Why choose TopZero sink?
Whether you are building from scratch or replacing an old sink, choosing a new kitchen sink that you interact with on a near-daily basis can be an exciting endeavor. Durable and versatile stainless steel sinks are by far more popular than any other sinks on the market. These dependable workhorses look good in a wide variety of kitchen décor styles.
Stainless steel sinks come either top mount or under mount. At one time, top mount (drop-in) sinks were the only game in town. When undermount sinks first hit the consumer market, they were expensive and considered difficult to install. But now professionals are just as comfortable installing undermounts as they are drop-ins. Neither drop-in nor undermount, TopZero is the newest invention on the market!
A drop-in sink has a visible lip around its perimeter that rests flat on the countertop. The sink basin drops straight into the countertop cut-out, and the perimeter lip holds everything in place. Drop-ins are secured by hidden metal clips under the countertop as well as a bead of silicone caulk under the sink’s edge.
Undermount sinks, on the other hand, mount to the bottom of the countertop and are held in place by heavy-duty clips and caulk or silicone. An undermount sink does have a rim, but the rim is not visible because it rests up against the bottom of the counter. The edge of the countertop along the sink cutout is entirely exposed. For this reason, undermount sinks generally must be used with solid countertop materials, such as solid surface, natural stone, or quartz.
Top-Mount (Drop-in) Sink
Undermount sinks are preferred over drop-in sinks, because there is no lip to form an obstruction around the sink, and that you can swipe food particles directly off the counter and into the sink. Undermount sinks also look better, however, with under-mount kitchen sinks, water can get lodged between the sink and the counter. This will ultimately lead to mold and fungus problems between the joint, something that is quite difficult to clean without calling in an expert. With proper maintenance, knowledge and the right professional installation method, you can stop this from happening, but it is a lot of work. If you have an under-mount sink in your kitchen, you need to regularly check for any signs of cracks or molds in the joints, both above the countertop and under.
THE NEWEST INVENTION:
NEITHER DROP-IN NOR UNDERMOUNT, TOPZERO MOUNT
LIPLESS, RIMLESS, SEAMLESS TOPZERO SINK IS THE SOLUTION!
You should choose a TopZero Sink, because:
1- Hygiene: It is the healthiest kitchen sink on the market!
Whether the sinks are self-rimming sinks or under-mount type sinks, the connection between the two is sealed with caulk or silicone. With time and moisture around the sink, this seam starts to degrade, blacken and eventually peel off, creating a gap between the countertop and the sink where bacteria and mold will grow. The result is unsightly and more importantly unhealthy. Integrated TopZero sinks are permanently installed to countertops with acrylic adhesives, where the sink actually becomes a seamless part of the countertop. No more breeding ground for bacteria and germs.
2- Aesthetics: Its vanishing edge appearance is very high-end, picture perfect and exceptional! It looks like an infinity-edge pool Apart from being hygienic and clean, TopZero sinks are the best looking sinks on the market. Built-in stainless steel on granite and quartz as well as porcelain is sleek and looks almost surreal. Even to the educated eye of an architect or a designer, or an experienced fabricator, the elements in TopZero sink system are combined in a strange way that they would not normally expect, like in a dream. The edge is vanished!
No one will choose an undermount sink over a TopZero sink, if she/he sees them side by side installed on a countertop.
3- Lower lifetime cost: Initial Cost vs Lifetime Cost
Cost of having a TopZero sink installed is usually more than an undermount sink, because TopZero sink installation requires a more precise cut and skilled labor. Sink cut out can be done manually or by an automatic CNC machine / waterjet.
The outcome in the hands of a qualified fabricator is simply picture perfect. While a standard undermount sink will require frequent service calls to get the counter/sink joint cleaned and re-caulked, with integrated TopZero sinks, this maintenance cost is eliminated once and for all, making it less expensive than standard undermount sinks over lifetime.
